Oxygen ambulance vs. ICU ambulance

An oxygen ambulance is a step below full ICU-level transport — it's built for patients who need supplemental oxygen but are otherwise stable and don't require ventilator support or continuous cardiac monitoring. If a patient's condition is more complex, our ICU ambulance service covers that higher level of care instead. When you call, describing the patient's current oxygen use (nasal cannula, mask, how many litres per minute) helps us confirm the right vehicle immediately.

For patients already on home oxygen

If a patient is already on a home oxygen concentrator, that device typically isn't designed for vehicle transport — our ambulance's own cylinder-based supply takes over for the journey, and we coordinate the switch-over with family or caregivers before departure so there's no gap in oxygen delivery.
